When we are emotionally upset we tend to make decisions erratically and irresponsibly. Often we are even unaware of our emotional health or well being. There is an old saying from scripture that says, 'Be still and know that I am'. In today's society this is one of the hardest things to do. Be still. We even scream at our children to be still and we ourselves never consider that this may be a good thing for us as well. I was raised in the countryside and often had time to explore the woods and river banks and sit under the huge cottonwoods and lounge in the deep grasses. These times I would spend musing and pondering the few things in the world I was acquainted with. Some might say that I was enjoying some solitude. We all need these times like this to get in touch with ourselves every so often. We should all spend time reflecting on who we are and what we are about in our lives. Being in touch with the 'I am that I am' is a good thing. One way of doing this would be to go to some island some where and spend some time there on the beach alone, with no cell phone or any contact and let some one bring you food each day and there simply repose. This can do marvelous wonders for a person's mental health. Well, may you be rested and rejuvenated. Oscar Add Comment | ArchivesFebruary 2012 Author;
